What Second Career gives you |
|
This is a government funding program for people who got laid off and need training/new skills to get back to job market. .
Apply for up to $28,000 for costs including:
Tuition
Books
Manuals, Workbooks or Other Instructional Costs
Transportation
Basic Living Allowance (maximum $410 per week)
Child Care |

How you qualify for Second Career |
|
To be eligible to get second career funding
You have been laid off and have not been working
You have been laid off and are working a temporary job just to cover costs
If you’re receiving Employment Insurance (EI), or have in the past, you can still apply.
You will be assessed for suitability for the Second Career program on a points system based on the following criteria:
History of job search
Duration of unemployment
Educational attainment
Work history
Labour market prospects
Types of training
Experience – Workplace skills |
